Groundwater Technology developed in situ site remediation ever since its formation. Our roots lay in 1975, in the USA as ‘Oil Recovery Systems’, manufacturer of oil/water separation systems. With the ever increasing growth and use of free product recover systems within the remediation sector Groundwater Technology Inc was formed in 1979 to offer in-situ remediation solutions, including bioremediation. Expansion of the company led to the forming in 1989 of Groundwater Technology B.V. in The Netherlands.
Groundwater Technology brought with it 10 year of in-situ remediation knowledge to the Netherlands. Due to the extensive use and relative ease of dig and dump within the Netherlands demands for in-situ remediation options and solutions were at first slow. However, during the early the early 1990s things start to change, with the rising costs, environmental impact, and disruption associated with dig and dump Groundwater Technology implement the first full site remediation project in the Netherlands that requires no excavation.
In-situ soil and groundwater remediation is now accepted as cost effective and environmentally sound. Market share of this type of remediation is now growing.
Groundwater Technology is a market leader at the forefront of in situ remediation technology and expands into other growing markets.
